What to Give Your Nanny for Christmas

As Christmas approaches are you trying to think of the perfect gift to show your appreciation to your nanny? Here are some ideas we’re sure they will love.

1 - A gift card to her favourite store.

Do you know where she likes to shop? If not, just ask! She’ll love having the extra money to get a little something from her wish list.

2 - Pay for one of her bills.

What a wonderful surprise it would be if you paid - for example - one month of her health insurance. You could simply give an envelope with cash, and include a note with your thoughts on how to use it.

2 - An invitation for dinner or breakfast with the whole family. Or ,if she comes early in the morning, have breakfast ready for her. Many times, nannies are so busy taking care of the children that they could forget to take care of their own needs. This would be a wonderful chance to show your appreciation for what she does and also spend some time together.

3 - Flowers or an Edible Arrangement sent to their home on their day off. What a great surprise that will definitely have them smiling all day long.

4 - A train ticket to visit a place you think she’ll love - especially if she’s not from the area. You could enclose it in an envelope with a list of reasons you think she’ll like it and things to do while she’s there (along with a bit of spending money if you like). She will love the thoughtful gesture.

5 - A phone accessory. For those nannies that are a little more tech-savvy, you could purchase a phone accessory like headphones or a cool, spill-proof cell phone case, if they don’t already have one. This is another area where personalization will go a long way.

6 - An insulated travel mug. Perfect for when she’s on the go with the kids, or so she doesn’t have to microwave her coffee every time she’s about to sit down and take a sip, but then gets a request from a child.

7 - A personalized frame. It would be so nice to put in a pretty frame a sweet photo of your nanny with the kids. You think of her as family, and she thinks about you the same way. This would be a great way for her to display some of her favourite people in her own home.

8 - A facial, massage, manicure or pedicure. She takes care of the kids all day long. She’ll love being pampered, appreciate the quiet time, and feel amazing afterwards.

9 - A thank-you note. As simple as this may seem, it is still from the heart and will be appreciated at any time. Sometimes, it’s the little things that matter the most.

What ever gift you choose to give your nanny for Christmas, make the gesture heartfelt and personal, and we know she will love it.
